Review: One Night in Miami

I think One Night in Miami is going to be right in the eyes of the Academy.  

A magical story of a group of iconic men from the 1960s where civil rights are on the move. Regina King's first movie is brilliant.  

Great direction, great script, great performances (now we talk about that) and great cinematography are some of the things that can be highlighted in this wonderful film and they are not few. 

Kingsley Ben-Adir and Leslie Odom Jr. are the two most remarkable actors in this story. The cast in general is spectacular. For me Leslie Odom Jr. is the safest to be present at the Oscar nominations but Kingsley Ben-Adir should have the award from him too. The cast in general is spectacular. When will the Academy create the category of best cast? I think it is very necessary.

The script is another of the jewels of the film. I don't think Kemp Powers will miss his first Oscar nomination in adapted screenplay. 

I honestly liked it a lot. Pleasant to watch and an emotional story to move, it is one of the films of the year.

Creo que One Night in Miami va a estar justamente en la mirada de la Academia.

Una historia mágica de un grupo de hombres icónicos de los años 60 donde los derechos civiles están en movimiento. 

La primera película de Regina King es brillante. Gran dirección, gran guion, grandísimas actuaciones (ahora hablamos de eso) y grandísima fotografía son algunas de las cosas que se pueden destacar de esta maravillosa película y no son pocas. 

Kingsley Ben-Adir y Leslie Odom Jr. son los dos actores más destacables de esta historia. Para mí Leslie Odom Jr. es el más seguro en estar presente en las nominaciones al Oscar pero Kingsley Ben-Adir debería tener su premio también. El elenco en general es espectacular. ¿Para cuándo la Academia creará la categoría de mejor elenco? Yo creo que es muy necesario.

El guion es otra de las joyas de la película. No creo que se le escape a Kemp Powers su primera nominación al Oscar en guion adaptado.

Sinceramente me ha gustado mucho. Agradable de ver y emotiva historia para conmover, es una de las películas del año.

It's been a long and tumultuous year in 2020 but we were still blessed with a wealth of good films, and due to being home more often, we also had a chance to see a lot of them as well. Review: Annette

Leos Carax vuelve a la carga con un musical inclasificable que rompe con los convencionalismos del género. El equipo de Annette en la alfombra roja del pasado festival de Cannes. Han pasado casi diez años desde su último largometraje y, el que fuera enfant terrible , Leos Carax, nos invita de nuevo a su particular universo cinematográfico. Lo hace al ritmo de 'So May We Start' de los Sparks, saludándonos desde una tabla de mezclas –al más puro estilo Godard, uno de los grandes referentes de Carax– mientras presenta los personajes mediante un plano secuencia espectacular.
